lekker home.

deck the final halls here @ lekker home located in Boston, Mass. a bit of education: lekker, the Dutch word for alluring, enticing and attractive, "introduces unique and one-of-a kind European home accessories and selected international furniture" hard to find in the world of US design companies. rest assured, you found a gem here.

the magazine.

it's hard to believe i've just come across the wickedly cool website and design store, the magazine out of Berkeley, CA. wow. great stuff for all different price ranges. bikes, furniture, accessories, design savvy people should be all over this one. nice little selection of Alessi, Artifort, Cappellini + Herman Miller plus some lesser knowns.

a few of my faves below.

feeling the popcorn.

must be craving the salt. great under $25 gifts @ cooking(dot)com. while it may be a bit late in the game to order today, there's nothing wrong with receiving a gift in the mail post holiday! throw in a netflix subscription for good measure...or treat yourself to both.

last minute gifts...

great little bird vase to hand over to someone for a mere $22 @ urban outfitters. ditto these Dalek Ice Bot by Kidrobot + some of the other jammies the site offers, including great sale items in the form of little winter animals to funk out your place or add a touch of imagination (a novel idea in itself).

worker bee.

dear readers...this girl is busy today but i'm going to post a few things as not to appear naughty.

greengirlart (dot) com.

apologies. i've been under the radar. whoa...the gift shopping season has taken me to a new level + the car (which I'm not used to) and winding down work projects. i recently (+ quite luckily) stumbled across this great blog website called greengirlart.com whose artist, wendy, takes on a touch of japanese influence with a bit of kid robot twisted in (sans any cutesy crafty vibe). the result...dreamy, lyrical artwork and a super blog to boot.

re:modern.

the store, re:modern, based in san francisco, has some wickedly cool stuff to check out including a nice little $50 + under section for those of you just beginning your gift quest. I, myself, am a bit far behind in this category + could be gunning for some of the items on this colorful + practical site. dig on the pink assassin pillow set.

karin eriksson.

love swedish artist karin eriksson relaxing, cool products (oh, it's sold at clio) as well as being a huge fan of her design, picturesque blogsite check here.

on her working process: Fashion and nature are major sources of inspiration to me. I am also very inspired by and interested in our craft heritage, in Sweden: the colours, techniques and the feeling of beauty and functionality in one.

clio on thompson.

strolling down thompson street past global table, reminded me of an equally unique store, clio which offers different products from an arrange of countries. check out: plates/bowls,glassware, vases + lighting concepts.

global table.

the perfect place to find unique, colorful gifts from around the country (think thailand, vietnam + holland) lands at this soho shoppe called global table. not that they haven't had press before. from weddings gifts to stocking stuffers, this is a store that has an array of special items--tea sets, utensils, vases, plates and serving pieces from under $50 up to $150. im a huge fan.

cheese.

this posting says it all...my suggestion, if you are going to do it, order from murrays cheese in manhattan. stellar selection of mouth-watering cheese--a favorite of mine is the humboldt fog goat cheese.

accessories @ flavour design.

practical and well-designed jammies to add to your home collection. go here. yes, more sushi...it's king in my world.

for the heavier wallet client, the collection of furniture is unique, almost beetlejuice-like.

note cards.

colorful + fun at @ carrot + stick press.

well dressed home.

has some unique goodies to pick up for someone. check it out here.

roy toy.

my favorite proprietor sean over @ canoe(sorry dear patrons, the condom dispensers are sold out!) had these great log cabins, made by Roy Toy (Roy K. Dennison) in his excellent Portland shoppe. assembly required and it takes longer than your standard , so grab a cup of coffee and make your cabin something to be proud of. no humble abodes! at ten dollars, these dwellings make for a fun gift. read about roy toy here. they don't make 'em like they used to.

cha cha supermarket.

lamp shades, rugs + cushions for your house or someone else's @ UK design pad cha cha supermarket.

the cross.

my o my. the cross design has about everything under the rader; excellent light pieces, vintage finds, jewelry, books, bedding, baby stuff, candles + bath products. complete haven. wish it were down the just road. think of this as a more desirable + european anthropologie.
