artist Donald Baechler constructs simple but well-considered paintings in a series from a his collection (1986-1991). The work is done on acrylic, oil and collage on linen. The pieces remind me of a cross between a proper pied-Piper and a Tim Burton soft, g-rated version animated figure with a stamp of Bacheler originality. Two additional favorites are these pieces finished in the late 90's.
