my fave time of year (& jimmy fowlers) has landed at this small nolita party invasion. See the San Gennaro festival ...beginning tonight. This clown (above) is known for being the lamest, meanest clown around (isn't he wearing Urban Outfitters?)...you will laugh your head off, especially should you hit the festival early during the weekdays (circa 4PM) when the Staten Island Italians are at their finest. Calvin Trillin (of Kansas City rearing) and his fun food read Tummy Trilogy begs you (yes, begs) not to forget about the sausage and zeppole. Read a nice interview here or just buy the paperback. Well worth the dolla.
