the red balloons is the french classic from the 1956 short film, Le Balloon Rouge by Albert Lamorisse. And so the story goes...a red balloon befriends the a boy named Pascal. After the balloon is stoned by a local gang of bullies, other balloons in Paris collect together and take Pascal on a flight over the city. An American West Side Story-ish tale.

Jeez, I hadn't thought about "The Red Ballon" in years.
I saw it so many times in school, it haunted my dreams for years....
My God, how I loved that movie!
It also affected me for the rest of my life and I am over 50 years old! I saw it as a 9 year old..
Please, does anyone know where or how I can purchase it?
