kim novak + hitchcock style
"Did he train you? Did he rehearse you? Did he tell you what to do and what to say?" I'm often struck again & again by the haunting starkness of Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo and Kim Novak's various personas. With black suits, pencil skirts, nipped-in waists, peep-toe shoes and cocktail dresses amoung today's racks--perhaps it was only inevitable that Hitchcock fashion would creep forward into the mainstream. Being a control freak, Hitchcock's customer designer, Edith Head was always given specific instructions how his femme fatales should look. See Vertigo's upcoming schedule on TMC .
